My name is :Vanessa-Mary: I live with my partner Mark, our son, and our two cats, Bam Bam and Pepples. I have two grown up children and two granddaughters I adore.
In my late twenties I spent some time away from my home town. My travels took me and my children to the North. We lived there for seven years. I met some fantastic people there. It’s my second home. After meeting Mark I had a short residency a market town.
Mark and I both work full time in busy and demanding roles. However, I’ve always had a passion for helping others. After graduating in 2002, I started my career in community development. I’ve worked for local councils, government bodies and in the voluntary sector. In 2011, I was the host of business workshops for social entrepreneurs. No matter how small my contribution to society. I’ve always aimed to make a difference in the world.
I have been a Lifestyle Coach since 2015 specialising in nutrition and fitness. I am a contributor to the health and wellbeing industry working with other experts in the field.
My childhood was troubled. My teenage years were filled with responsibility. I was struggling financially before I decided to further my education. My career started in community development, which helped me to understand different types of people. Now I am reaching out other professional women in individual and group settings.
My Grandparents came to England from the Caribbean when they were all young adults. I am an only child for my Mum. My Mum did not raise me. I was legally a ward of the court, fostered by strangers, my Grandparents and other foster families. Thankfully, I was reunited with my Mum in my early twenties. Now we are very close. My Mum is a main member of my dream team.
I am a young parent to my grown up children. I raised my children alone. In 2016, our family life was blessed with the arrival of our first grandchild. To our surprise in November 2018, my daughter gave birth to our second granddaughter.
The blessings did not end there. After seven years together Mark and I were discovered we had naturally conceived! In April 2019, I became a mother again to our beautiful baby boy!
My family are my reason WHY!!
I AM working hard to leave a legacy to my children and grandchildren by providing a quality service and great results to others. They are the reason I am working extra hours. My family are proud of my commitment to help as many people as I can.
My Healthy Active Lifestyle
My nutrition journey started by chance. After continuously listening the legendary business Philosopher Jim Rohn. I started to tune into his message on health care. At that point in my life I was in denial about my body image. Why? Well I never studied my own body metrics. I never looked at my weight. My gauge was my clothing.
Until 2012, I’d always been a small size 14. My old philosophy was if it didn’t fit buy something new! To my horror shopping for a special occasion meant trying on size 20 dresses!!
How could that be? I played netball in the local team. I enjoyed salsa dancing including classes at least three times a week. I enjoyed cycling as part of my weekly routine.

Over the years I’d formed some bad habits around food. My busy long days in the office started off without breakfast. My hydration consisted of tea with sugar. I never drank water unless I exercised. My lunch time breaks were religiously meal deals with orange juice. My evening meals during the week was most likely to be a takeaway.
When I finally made a decision to study my body metrics to my dismay I was seventeen and a half stones. It was time for change. I did some research. I found a solution and started my nutritional plan. Now I have a healthy breakfast every day. I aim to drink 2 litres of water everyday. I try to exercise for at least thirty minutes every day. I also make healthier choices to have more nutritious meals every day.
How I am doing now?
Well in total I’ve lost 54lbs in weight and kept it off. I still have to work on my daily habits to give me my Level 10 body composition results. However, I’ve discovered the basic fundamentals to living a healthy active lifestyle.
